Under the patronage of the University of Jordan (UJ) President, Prof. Nathir Obeidat, the Language Center organized a banquet for its international students, representing 17 different nationalities and totaling over 90 students.
This banquet, attended by the university president and the director of the Language Center, served as a warm initiative aimed at integrating the students into Arab culture and traditions.
Obeidat emphasized the importance of creating a supportive educational environment for international students and addressing their needs and concerns, pointing out that the university’s services and activities enhance students’ academic contributions.
In a casual meeting with the students, Obeidat listened to their needs and the main challenges they face during their study. He also stressed that international students are ambassadors of the university in their home countries and the university’s gateway to the world.
Center’s director Dr. Ismail Al-Mazaydeh stated that this event helps integrate international students into the local Jordanian community by introducing them to its customs, traditions, and popular cuisine. It also provides an opportunity for professors and students to interact, fostering stronger relationships.
Such gatherings also promote Jordan’s image as a accepting society. Upon entering the center, students encounter the Amman Message, translated into major world languages, emphasizing tolerance, acceptance of others, and fostering love among peoples.
