The University of Jordan (UJ) on Friday, began a week-long ceremonies, to graduate its 59th Cohort of students, the "Silver Jubilee Cohort", with the graduation ceremony of the School of Arts and King Abdullah II School of Information Technology.
Dean of the School of Arts, Prof. Mohammad Al-Qudah, celebrated the graduation of the "Silver Jubilee Cohort" in the era of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein. He highlighted the university's history of significant milestones, including the Silver Jubilee Cohort in 1987 during King Hussein's era and the Golden Jubilee Cohort in 2012, emphasizing the School's legacy as the first in the University and Jordan, starting with 169 male and 19 female students, now exceeding 4,000 students.
Addressing the graduates, Al-Qudah assured them that the school's doors remain open, encouraging their creativity and contributions. He urged them to read history carefully to understand their journey and future direction, supported by a dedicated generation of professors. Concluding his speech, he motivated the graduates to pursue their goals and extend their hands to the legacy of the School, congratulating the 475 graduates and their parents for their determination and dedication.
Dean of King Abdullah II School of Information Technology, Prof. Saleh Al-Sharaeh, congratulated graduates on achieving this well-deserved milestone after four years of hard work, with 260 bachelor's graduates, 28 master's students, and 86 prospective graduates, emphasizing that this achievement marks a crucial stage in the students' professional lives, enabling them to look forward to the future and dedicate their knowledge and services for the benefit of the nation and society.
He highlighted UJ's distinction as the first in the Hashemite Kingdom to achieve excellence in global rankings, notably securing the 368th position in the QS World University Ranking 2025. He expressed pride in addressing the graduates as the "Silver Jubilee Cohort," symbolizing 25 years of effort, sacrifice, and progress.
Al-Sharaeh also congratulated the graduates' families and friends for their constant support throughout the students' academic journey. He commended the faculty and administrative staff for their efforts. Furthermore, he pointed out that the college is now among the top 126 faculties globally and will continue to enhance its reputation in the artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and intellectual leadership fields, striving for excellence and building a great educational hub.
Throughout the week, UJ continues its celebrations by graduating students from the School of Educational Sciences, followed by the Schools of Foreign Languages and Arts and Design, then Science, Sports Sciences, and Law Schools, followed by the School of Business, Prince Al-Hussein Bin Abdullah II School of International Studies, and the Center for Women's Studies. Afterwards the School of Engineering, followed by Sharia, Agriculture, and Archaeology and Tourism schools ceremonies, then Nursing, Pharmacy, and Rehabilitation Sciences schools, and finally the Schools of Medicine and Dentistry and PhD students graduations, alongside honoring the top students.
