The Social Impact Award, known as (SIA) - Jordan Branch on Tuesday announced “Jordan for Urban” project, a project conducted by a team of University of Jordan (UJ) students, the winner of the award's first place.
The project, led by Ayham Al-Shamas from the Department of Architecture, and contributed to by Aman Hajjaj from the Department of Archeology, Hamza Saeed from the Department of Architecture, Serena Al-Kharabsheh from the Department of Tourism Management, and Hala Nawafleh from the Department of Architecture, received financial support worth JOD 1,200 and the opportunity to attend the award’s closing conference and represent Jordan at the final stage of the award in Serbia.
The award saw the participation of 10 innovative entrepreneurial projects by youth from various universities and local community, and the jury, which was formed from a group of experts and specialists in the entrepreneurship sector, was able to declare four projects winners and their qualification for the closing ceremony in Serbia.
The “Jordan for Urban” project represents an application that aims to introduce tourist places. It provides tourism solutions that call for responsible and sustainable tourism within cities, and also aims to support small local businesses and put them on the tourism map by employing artificial intelligence technology to design experiences and tours that suit everyone.
The Social Impact Award supports young, early-stage social entrepreneurs in developing and implementing innovative business solutions tackling societal challenges.
