First International Conference and Forum on Business and Digital Economy Kicks off at UJ

​The First International Conference and Forum on Business and Digital Economy 2023 (IBDE 2023) kicked off Tuesday at the University of Jordan (UJ) under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Taking place on campus, 250 participants from 45 educational institutions from 20 Arab and foreign countries are attending the event which embraces the multi and interdisciplinary nature of Business and Digital Economy to its fullest extent.

The 3-day event gathered the finest research, business leaders and top government officials to exchange their experiences and develop the existing portfolio of theories, methods, practices and tools for managing and improving business and digital economy at large.

In his address on behalf of the Minister, UJ President Prof. Nathir obeidat stressed the importance of digital economy in the educational experience based on its capability of creating numerous opportunities, stressing that business graduates are required to harness digital capabilities needed to reach their goals and desires.

Obeidat added that it has become necessary for business management to adapt to the context of the changes taking place in the global economy, and this leads to identifying the requirements of digital economic development as an important and essential part for those who contribute to the economies of their countries.

Dean of the College of Business Prof. Raed Masaada Bani Yassin said that the importance of understanding and harnessing the power of the digital economy can't be overstated in the era of technological advancement and rapid digital transformations.

He added that IBDE 2023 serves as a platform for researchers, industry leaders, policy makers, entrepreneurs and businessmen from all over the world to engage in discussions on dynamic areas of business and the digital economy, exchange knowledge, and build new partnerships that will pave the way for a brighter future.

IBDE 2023 research papers are addressing topics of interest in seven tracks related to the digital economy era: Business Management, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Information Systems, Public Administration, and Business Economics. Each track covers different thematic areas of interest and research. Accordingly, each track has specific evaluation criteria, a separate track chair, and a dedicated program committee
