The University of Jordan (UJ) participated in the International Conference on Rejecting Violence, Extremism and Terrorism, titled “A Call to Achieve Human Security,” held in Vienna, Austria. UJ was represented by Prof. Rudiana Ibrahim Al Refa’e from the School of Sharia.
Al Refa’e presented a paper titled “The Role of Educational Institutions in Rejecting Violence, Extremism and Terrorism,” emphasizing the importance of qualified educators, balanced curricula, and preventive educational strategies to counter radicalization.
Her research highlighted the central role of Jordan’s educational and religious institutions in promoting moderation and tolerance, calling for stronger partnerships with civil society to foster safe, inclusive environments grounded in human values and peace.
