University of Jordan Participates in Ecosystems 2030 Summit in Spain: “Shaping the Future of Innovation, AI, and Society”

The University of Jordan (UJ) is participating in the Ecosystems 2030 (ES2030) Summit, held on 3–4 October in A Coruña, Spain. The global platform brings together Fortune 500 executives, policymakers, pioneering entrepreneurs, academics, and cultural figures to discuss the future of technology, society, and innovation, with Artificial Intelligence at the centre of this year’s programme.

The UJ delegation is led by President Prof. Nathir Obeidat, accompanied by Vice President for Scientific Schools Prof. Ashraf Abu Karaky, Vice President for Administrative, Financial Affairs and Digital Transformation Prof. Ziad Hawamdeh, Dean of the School of Engineering Prof. Menwer Attarakih Al-Abbady, and Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Prof. Moudar Zgoul.

The two-day ES2030 Summit features high-level panels and interactive masterclasses on generative and agentic AI, AI leadership, MedTech, neurotechnology, virtual worlds, next-generation finance, robotics, and sustainable systems. The agenda also addresses ethical frameworks for AI governance, digital inclusion, big data analytics, and healthcare applications, reflecting the summit’s ambition to provide a roadmap for societies navigating technological transformation by 2030.

During the summit, UJ honoured Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, Dr. Omar Hatamleh, with a recognition plaque, acknowledging his remarkable contributions to the advancement of artificial intelligence and innovation.

Through its engagement in ES2030, UJ highlights its role in advancing international dialogue on innovation and demonstrates its commitment to developing responsible, inclusive technologies that foster sustainable development.
