The University of Jordan (UJ) participated in the 14th International Conference on “Institutional and Strategic Foresight: Strategies for Adapting to Digital Transformation,” organised by the Arab Academics and Scientists Union (AASU). The conference, described as a refereed (peer-reviewed) scientific gathering, was held on 2 October 2025 at the Days Inn Hotel in Amman under the patronage of Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Eng. Sami Samirat.

Vice President for Humanities Schools Prof. Nahed Emaish represented UJ at the event, joining academics and policymakers from fourteen Arab countries.

During the opening session, Emaish was honoured for her participation, which she described as an acknowledgment of UJ, its leadership, faculty, staff, and students.

In her remarks, Emaish described the conference as a platform to exchange knowledge and engage with international best practices in digital transformation. She underlined the role of foresight as a cornerstone of strategic planning and institutional resilience, stressing that the theme resonates with UJ’s own digital strategy, which integrates technology into teaching, learning, and student services. She also highlighted the opportunity to build new collaborations with partner institutions and benefit from global experiences.

The programme addressed themes of governance, human capital, institutional readiness, and strategic foresight, reinforcing the idea that strategic foresight
is vital for sustainable institutional growth.

The conference’s theme also aligned with the Royal Vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, who in his Seventh Discussion Paper emphasised the importance of knowledge and technology in shaping an integrated society ready for the digital age and committed to sustainable development.
