At the beginning of the session, Dean of the School, Prof. Muhannad Mobaideen, welcomed the two speakers, confirming the importance of adhering to media ethics, and stressing that the most important element in the media profession is editing, as good media material is available when there is a good editor.

The discussion addressed several issues concerning media ethics being part of the system of professional ethics and the code of professional conduct. It also tackled ethical principles in newspapers and major media institutions, and the new digital media, as well as copyright, scientific theft, photo and video editing, and the right to privacy.

Moreover, the speakers urged students to choose what they post on their social media pages intelligently, as it has the potential to cause unintended harm.
