As part of the activities of the Second Honorary Professors’ Forum, the School of Science at the University of Jordan (UJ) welcomed and hosted its visiting honorary professors in scientific lectures addressing the latest developments in the field of chemistry.
This visit was held within the framework of a scientific workshop organised under the patronage of the Dean of the School, Prof. Mahmoud Jaghoub, and attended by several faculty members and postgraduate students. The workshop took place on the sidelines of the Second Honorary Professors’ Forum, which is scheduled for Saturday.
In the Department of Chemistry, Dr. Murad Aldamen, the department head, introduced Prof. Philip Jessop, who delivered two lectures on the topics of sustainable development and green chemistry. The first lecture was titled "Green Solvents", and the second "Hotspot Driven Research in Green and Sustainable Chemistry."
In the Department of Physics, Prof. Farhan Saif gave a lecture titled "Quantum Algorithms and Applications," in which he discussed the latest advancements in quantum algorithms and their various applications.
The lectures witnessed rich scientific engagement from the audience, with the speakers responding to questions from students and faculty.
These meetings are part of the Honorary Professors’ Forum program, which includes a series of academic and scientific events, most notably a preparatory meeting that brought together the visiting professors with the Dean of the School, Prof. Mahmoud Jaghoub, his deputies, and academic department heads.
