The University of Jordan (UJ) continues to highlight its distinguished presence in global rankings, as the 2024 Shanghai Global Rankings of Academic Subjects showcased the university's excellence in four academic disciplines.
According to the Rankings, UJ ranked (201–300) in Dentistry and Nursing, (301–400) in Mathematics, and (401–500) in Education.
UJ President, Prof. Nathir Obeidat, expressed pride over the university's progress in global rankings, noting that it is a result of ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of education and scientific research, and adopting innovative policies focused on supporting academic excellence, develop research infrastructure, and expand the scope of international collaboration with prestigious institutions and universities.
The Shanghai Rankings are considered among the most prestigious in the world. They rely on a set of objective academic indicators and independent data to measure the performance of global universities across various disciplines.
These indicators include: International Academic Award Laureates, Highly Cited Researchers, and Chief Editors of International Academic Journals, Leaders of International Academic Organizations, and research published in Top Journals (Top Journal Papers) and in Q1 Journals (Q1 Journal Papers), Category Normalized Citation Impact, and International Collaborated Papers.
