The University of Jordan (UJ), through its Development Community & Service Center, in cooperation with the Hareer Foundation for Community Development and the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC), organized a breast cancer awareness workshop for students from various faculties across campus.
The workshop emphasized the vital role of early detection in prevention and treatment, introducing participants to key risk factors, self-examination techniques, and available medical and psychological support services. Experts also presented resources from KHCC’s Early Detection Unit and psychosocial oncology programs.
Director of the Development Community & Service Center Mohammad Mustafa stated that the event is part of an ongoing series of awareness activities implemented in partnership with civil society organizations, reflecting UJ’s commitment to community service and public health promotion. He added that such initiatives reinforce the University’s social responsibility and its role in promoting a culture of health awareness on campus. He further noted that the initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being.
