Community Security Awareness Week Kicks-off at UJ

For the third consecutive year, the University of Jordan (UJ), represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs, and the Public Security Directorate renewed their collaboration to organize the "Community Security Awareness Week," which commenced Sunday under the patronage of UJ President Prof. Nathir Obeidat.

This partnership underscores their firm commitment to fostering a culture of security and societal awareness, especially among youth who represent the hope for the future and a cornerstone of development.

The "Community Security Awareness Week" serves as a platform for interaction between students and public security representatives, aiming to build bridges of communication and mutual understanding, and to create a safe and engaging environment. The week's events include interactive lectures and live demonstrations targeting university students, addressing topics such as community peace, combating extremism, drug prevention, cybercrime, traffic safety, and societal violence.

UJ Vice President for Quality & Local Accreditation. Prof. Amira  Masri inaugurated the event on behalf of the President, emphasizing the essential role of security as a foundation for any cohesive and progressive society, highlighting that it is a collective responsibility not limited to security institutions but extending to every member of the community.

She also noted the crucial role universities and students play in spreading security awareness and contributing effectively to building a safer and more stable society.

Several lectures and activities are planned over the week, focusing on key issues such as community peace, traffic awareness, and family protection, alongside theatrical performances highlighting societal violence and mobile community police station displays.
