UJ Continues to Advance in QS Ranking by Subject

​The University of Jordan (UJ) ranked among the top universities worldwide in QS World University Ranking by Subject 2023 in 16 majors, with two new majors enter the ranking for the first time this year are Library and Information Management Science and Biology.

UJ also ranked in 4 Knowledge fields in the top 500 list in the world out of 5 fields recognized by QS, whereas the knowledge field (engineering and technology) ranked the highest (260 globally).

The university ranked first locally in (14) majors, which are: Nursing, pharmacy, computer science and information systems, Linguistics, mathematics, chemistry, Accounting and Finance, business administration, educational sciences, English language and literature, library science and information management, life sciences, medicine,  and chemical engineering.

UJ also ranked first locally in (3) knowledge fields, namely: engineering and technology, social sciences and management, and arts and humanities.

The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023 cover a total of 54 disciplines, grouped into five broad subject areas and published annually. This year’s rankings include three new subjects: data science, history of art, and marketing. 

Featuring more than 15,700 different academic programmes from 1594 institutions, the ranking ranks academic programmes over five indicators to effectively reflect their performance: Academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations per paper, H-index, and international research network (by broad faculty area).
