The University of Jordan (UJ) President, Prof. Nathir Obeidat, stated on Al Mamlaka TV that the university welcomed 8,800 new students this year across various disciplines.
During an interview on Tuesday, he highlighted that the university has introduced 25 new technological programs to keep pace with developments. He added that those programs have seen high demand, reflecting students' awareness of their relevance in the job market.
Additionally, he announced the introduction of a new curriculum, including 9 hours dedicated to English language skills, 6 hours for Arabic, and another 9 hours (3 for digital skills and 6 for soft skills) aimed at enhancing students' competitiveness locally, regionally, and globally.
Obeidat also discussed plans to review traditional majors like medicine and engineering by incorporating digital skills, soft skills, AI, and technology.
He emphasized the need for increased efforts from the university's staff to maintain its global ranking, currently 368th in the world and 9th in the Arab region.
