UJ Sign MoU with BDC

The University of Jordan (UJ) and the Business Development Center (BDC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to implement a series of activities aimed at engaging young people in specialized programs and equipping them with the necessary tools to enter the job market or launch their own entrepreneurial projects.

The MoU was signed on behalf of the university by the Vice President for Humanities Schools, Prof. Nahed Emesh, and on behalf of the center by its Director General, Ghaleb Hijazi.

The memorandum outlines cooperation in implementing the “MAHARAT” program at the university, holding introductory sessions for BDC's programs, hosting success stories from these programs, and designing initiatives focused on providing students with essential job market skills and motivating them for starting their own projects.

Under the MoU, the university will organize introductory sessions and workshops for students, enroll them in training courses, and help them gain employability skills aligned with market demands. It also aims to prepare university students to work alongside local community members in youth empowerment projects that lead to employment or self-employment opportunities provided by the center. Additionally, it offers university staff, including faculty, administrators, and professionals, the opportunity to contribute through scientific support, training, consultation, or participation in activities organized by the center.

The two parties also signed an annex to the MoU, specifying the implementation of the “MAHARAT” program, which focuses on key life skills needed in the job market, including hosting introductory sessions for students in coordination with school deans to promote the program and inviting prominent figures from across the Kingdom to share real-life success stories with students.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Director of the International Affairs Unit Dr. Sameh Al-Zubaidi, and Assistant Vice President for Humanities Schools, Dr. Ghadeer Al-Hassan,
