UJ School of Business to Hold Joint International Conference on Business and Technology (ICBT)

​The School of Business at the University of Jordan (UJ) in collaboration with the EuroMid Academy of Business and Technology in Turkey; and Ahlia University in Bahrain, is to inaugurate tomorrow the Joint International Conference on Business and Technology (ICBT), under the patronage of UJ President Prof. Nathir Obeidat, will take place at the Academy building and the School of Business. 

Prof. Ra’ed Masa’deh, Dean of the School of Business and the conference chair, stated that the two-day conference, themed “Techonomic and Beyond: Exploring the Interplay of Business Technology and Society”, aims to provide a platform for scholars, industry experts, and researchers to exchange ideas and present findings from research papers worldwide.

The conference, according to Masa’deh, will cover diverse tracks such as Application of Artificial Intelligence in Business and Industry 5.0; Technology and Digital Transformation; Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Technology; Current Issues in Management, Education and Accounting; Gender Diversity, Women Studies and Technology; Technology and Environmental Sustainability; Technology Application, Emotional Intelligence and Performance; Digital Transformation and Financial Innovation; and Finance, Entrepreneurship and Gender.

ICBT will feature a robust agenda including keynote speeches from distinguished figures across academia, government, and industry, promising enriching discussions and invaluable networking opportunities. Notable speakers include Prof. Abdulla Y. Al-Hawaj, Founding President of Ahlia University in Bahrain; Kholoud Saqqaf, Minister of Investment of Jordan; Mrs. Suhair Al-Ali, Senator at Rapporteur of the Financial and Economic Committee Jordan Senate; Dr. Ezzeddin Kanakrieh, Chief Executive Officer Social Security Investment Fund Jordan; Dr. Adel Bino, Chairman Jordan Securities Commission Jordan; Dr. Moyad Samman, ACWA Power Country Manager Jordan; and Prof. Sultan Abu Orabi, President of Tishk International University, among others.   

Dean of the School of Business at Ahlia University in Bahrain and the conference co-chair, Prof. Allam Hamdan, indicated that 340 research papers will be presented at the conference in-person and online attendees, and 25 keynote speakers will contribute their insights and expertise across various economic and scientific themes. Dr. Bahaaeddin Alareeni, the president of EuroMid Academy of Business and Technology and the conference co-chair, stated that the conference offers a publication opportunity for presented papers, which will undergo a peer-review process for potential inclusion in the Springer conference proceedings and scientific journals indexed by Scopus.

Assistant Dean at the School of Business at UJ, organizing committee member, Dr. Hala Zaidan, said that ICBT will spotlight crucial panels on Investment in Higher Education; Higher Education and Scientific Research in Arab Universities; Key Drivers for Investment in Jordan; Scientific Publishing in Arab Journals: Challenges in Classification and Dissemination; Arab World Scientific Output and Knowledge Dependency in International Indicators; “S” as Social: Global Credit Markets Responses to the Labor and Community Issues; Innovating for Sustainability; and Prospects and Challenges for Funding Scientific Research.

Deputy Dean at the School of Business at Hashemite University in Jordan and the organizing committee member, Dr. Hashem Alshurfat, stated that under the theme of “Research Circles; and Meet the Editors”, ICBT will also include a roundtable session aimed at fostering collaboration among Arab universities to enhance economic and social development across the region. This initiative is expected to pave the way for significant research partnerships and innovative solutions tailored to the needs of Arab societies.
