In a ceremonial event on Friday, the University of Jordan (UJ) graduated a new cohort of students from the health sciences schools: pharmacy, nursing, and rehabilitation sciences, who have completed the requirements for their bachelor's and postgraduate degrees. This ceremony was part of the university's celebrations of the 59th graduation of the "Silver Jubilee cohort."
Dean of the School of Nursing, Prof. Areej Othman, said: "Today is a celebration of joy and great pride, marking the conclusion of years of hard work and support from families who stood by the graduates throughout their journey". She added that the university has demonstrated its commitment to excellence, achieving significant local and international accreditations, with the School of Nursing now ranked among the top schools globally. Addressing the graduates, Othman emphasized the deep responsibility they carry to care for others with compassion and integrity, recalling her own pride in being a graduate of UJ.
Dean of the School of Pharmacy, Prof. Rula Darwish, highlighted that the graduation of this cohort coincides with the achievements of His Majesty King Abdullah II, from whom they draw inspiration for progress and prosperity. She emphasized that UJ, established over half a century ago, is highly regarded for its rich history of local and global achievements and now ranks prominently among the world's top universities. Darwish indicated that the School of Pharmacy is recognized globally for its accomplishments, ranking 150th in the world in QS rankings and holds prestigious positions in other rankings. She encouraged graduates to continue their journey of success by embracing lifelong learning, professional ethics, innovation, teamwork, and community service.
Dean of the School of Rehabilitation Sciences, Prof. Kamal Alhadidi noted that this cohort's graduation coincides with the Kingdom's celebration of His Majesty's Silver Jubilee and the university's top ranking among Jordanian universities in the QS World University Rankings. He highlighted the high efficiency of university graduates as a key factor in these rankings and expressed gratitude to the university administration and staff for their efforts. Alhadidi encouraged graduates to stay connected with their professors and continue developing their skills through training courses. Addressing the students' families, he congratulated them on their youngsters' hard-earned achievements after four years of dedication and perseverance.
For nine consecutive days, the University of Jordan celebrated the graduation of its students from various specialties, 914 students received their certificates after completing the requirements for bachelor's, postgraduate, and diploma degrees from the three schools.
It is worth referring to the silent heroes who worked persistently to make this event a success, represented in the higher graduation committee and the supervising committees of the ceremony, and the efforts made by those in charge of the graduation ceremonies from the Deanship of Student Affairs, the Admissions and Registration Unit, the Media and Public Relations Unit, the University Security Department, and maintenance and services departments, and others who made a distinguished effort throughout the graduation week.
