The University of Jordan (UJ) hosted the Grand Mufti of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Dr. Ahmad Al-Hasanat in a lecture held as part of the “Alumni Story” series organized by the International Program, Alumni, and Marketing Unit to honor the University’s distinguished alumni.

The lecture was attended by the Dean of the School of Sharia Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Kilani, the Director of the International Program, Alumni, and Marketing Unit Dr. Zaid Obeidat, faculty members, and students. During the event, Al-Hasanat reflected on his academic journey from Mutah University to UJ, where he earned his master’s and doctoral degrees in Islamic Jurisprudence and its Fundamentals.

Revisiting his formative years at UJ, the Grand Mufti recalled his professors and peers, emphasizing the culture of respect, dialogue, and intellectual curiosity that shaped his education. He encouraged students to pursue knowledge with sincerity and dedication, reminding them that university study marks only the beginning of a lifelong journey of learning, reflection, and service.

Al-Kilani commended the Grand Mufti’s scholarly and professional achievements, describing him as a distinguished role model for UJ graduates and a leading voice in advancing the values of moderation and enlightened Islamic thought.
