The Department of Mathematics at the University of Jordan (UJ) organised a heartfelt ceremony to honour several distinguished faculty members and a retired staff member who recently concluded their service at the University.
The event celebrated the honorees' academic achievements, long-standing dedication, and vital contributions to advancing the department’s mission. Their efforts have left a lasting impact on the educational landscape of the University through decades of teaching, research, mentorship, and community engagement.
Among the faculty honoured were Prof. Hasan Z. Hdeib, Prof. Roshdi Khalil, Prof. Hesham M. Al-Younes, and Prof. Fouad Kataneh. Each was recognised for their outstanding academic service, dedication to student development, and commitment to promoting excellence in higher education.
The department also recognised Ms. Hanan Al-Rashaideh, a retired staff member, for her loyal and commendable service to the University community.
The ceremony commenced with a welcome address by the Chair of the Department, Prof. Baha M. Alzalg, who expressed deep appreciation for the honorees' enduring influence and dedication.
Dean of the School of Science, Prof. Mahmoud I. Jaghoub, delivered remarks as guest of honour, highlighting the department’s achievements, including its impressive international standing, ranked 119th globally in the QS World University Rankings.
Organised by the Department’s Social Committee, the event reflected the spirit of gratitude and recognition, underscoring the department’s ongoing commitment to celebrating those who have shaped its legacy.
