The University of Jordan (UJ) has announced the launch of an international research group specialized in systematic reviews and meta-analysis using the methodology of the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI), affiliated with the University of Adelaide in Australia. This initiative reflects the university's commitment to advancing evidence-based research and supporting knowledge-driven decision-making in the healthcare sector.
The group aims to produce high-quality systematic reviews and meta-analyses in accordance with global standards set by the Joanna Briggs Institute. It also seeks to apply these reviews to improve clinical practices, health policies, and academic education. The group is officially recognized by both the University of Jordan and the University of Adelaide to conduct systematic scientific reviews and offer internationally accredited training in this field.
The group includes a number of researchers and experts from various disciplines. From the University of Jordan, the team comprises Prof. Diana Arabiat, Dr. Eman Abu Sabbah from the School of Nursing, Dr. Mohammad AL Jabery from the School of Educational Sciences, Prof. Osama Abu-Hammad and Prof. Najla Dar-Odeh from the School of Dentistry, Dr. Zeinab Arabeyyat from the School of Basic and Marine Sciences/Aqaba Branch, Dr. Haya Arabiyat from the Ministry of Health, and medical student Sarah Khalf.
International members include Professor Lisa Whitehead from the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Edith Cowan University in Australia, and Professor Dr. Evalotte Morellos from the Faculty of Medicine, Health, and Caring Sciences at Linköping University in Sweden.
The group focuses on producing and publishing advanced qualitative research in priority health areas such as healthcare quality, digital health, chronic diseases, oral health, developmental disabilities, marine sciences, and applications of nanotechnology.
Additionally, the group aims to promote a culture of high-quality scientific research within academic and clinical communities and to enhance the use of systematic review outcomes in improving the quality of healthcare decisions and practices.
It also seeks to build strategic partnerships with public and private institutions and internationally accredited research centers affiliated with the Joanna Briggs Institute, in order to translate research findings into practical applications that contribute to advancing healthcare development and fostering societal progress in Jordan and the region.
