As part of ongoing efforts to enhance academic, research, and clinical collaboration in the field of cystic fibrosis care in Jordan, the University of Jordan (UJ) welcomed a specialised medical delegation on Sunday from Harvard University, Boston Children’s Hospital, and the University of Utah.
UJ President, Prof. Nathir Obeidat, received the delegation, which included leading specialists in pediatric pulmonology, gastroenterology, nutrition, and psychology. Discussions focused on strategies to improve healthcare services for children with cystic fibrosis and to advance joint research initiatives, particularly through UJ’s Cystic Fibrosis Research Group.
During their visit, the delegation toured the School of Medicine, delivered a lecture on current treatments for cystic fibrosis, and explored potential opportunities for academic collaboration and student exchange. They also visited the University of Jordan Hospital, where they observed pediatric endoscopy procedures and nutrition-focused care.
The visit included meetings with the Dean of Scientific Research, Prof. Yaser Rayyan, and other university officials to explore frameworks for future joint studies and collaborative projects with Harvard and Utah universities.
