The School of Educational Sciences at the University of Jordan (UJ), under the patronage of its Dean Prof. Mohammad Sayel Al-Zyoud, organized a panel discussion featuring the Chief of Party for Early Grades Education Project in Jordan (ASAS), Cameron Mirza, who shared global insights into educational research and innovation.
Al-Zyoud highlighted the pivotal role of educational research in improving academic programs and addressing educational challenges, emphasizing its contribution to the global development of education systems. Mirza discussed trends such as advancements in technology, artificial intelligence, and the increased focus on remote learning following the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mirza also stressed the importance of research quality over quantity, measured by international publications and citations, as a cornerstone for academic excellence and global university rankings. He also mentioned that UJ is among top 10 Arab universities in educational research.
The session concluded with discussions on empowering teachers with research skills and taking advantage of university resources to enhance the educational landscape in Jordan and beyond.
