University of Jordan Launches Research Group on Restorative Options for Dental Implants and Endodontically Treated Teeth

By Zayed Alzyoud

The University of Jordan (UJ), through its School of Dentistry, has launched a specialized research group titled “Restorative Options for Dental Implants and Endodontically Treated Teeth” as part of its ongoing commitment to advancing innovation and evidence-based clinical research in dentistry.

The group focuses on clinical and translational research aimed at refining treatment approaches in implant and restorative dentistry, developing innovative solutions that enhance both functional and aesthetic outcomes. It explores modern implant designs and materials, as well as biochemical and histological changes in surrounding tissues, to promote better osseointegration and long-term success. In the field of endodontics, the group works to advance restorative methods that preserve the structure and vitality of treated teeth.

The team includes distinguished academics and professionals from UJ and leading international institutions: Prof. Mohammad Abdalla Al-Rabab’ah, Prof. Ahmad El-Ma’aita, Dr. Susan Hattar, Dr. Aseel Sharaireh, Dr. Sanaa Aljamaani, and Dr. Wijdan Almanaseer from UJ’s School of Dentistry; Prof. Faleh Ahmad Tamimi Marino at McGill University in Canada; Prof. Hugh Devlin at the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom; Prof. Radi Masri at the University of Maryland in the United States; Dr. Nezar Al-Duqom, CEO of Plus Dental Supplies in Jordan; and Dareen Abu Mahfouz, a master’s student at UJ.

By fostering collaboration across implantology, biomaterials, endodontics, and restorative technologies, the group aims to bridge scientific research and clinical application, positioning UJ as a regional and global hub for restorative dental research excellence.
