The University of Jordan (UJ) is launching 11 new academic programs across its scientific and humanities schools, commencing at the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.
This initiative follows the Higher Education Council’s approval of the programs, pending their accreditation by the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions, and ensuring full compliance with the National Qualifications Framework.
The new programs reflect the university’s commitment to academic innovation and diversification, covering a range of levels including bachelor's, master's, higher diploma, and doctoral degrees.
At the undergraduate level, UJ is introducing a Bachelor's degree in Event Management within the School of Archaeology and Tourism, subject to the submission of a comprehensive four-year faculty staffing plan to the accreditation body.
Moreover, the School of Science is launching a Bachelor's degree in Data Science and Statistics, with a forthcoming title modification to “Statistics and Data Science.”
At the higher diploma level, three new programs will be introduced: Higher Diploma in Laboratory Management and Quality Assurance (School of Science), Higher Diploma in Physical Fitness (School of Sport Sciences), and Higher Diploma in Educational Leadership (School of Educational Sciences).
Starting in the upcoming academic year, the university will also offer a range of new master’s programs, including:
Master’s in Hospitality Management and Sustainable Tourism (School of Archaeology and Tourism)
Master’s in Oral Health Sciences – Oral Biology Track (School of Dentistry)
Master’s in Process Safety Engineering and Intelligent Systems (School of Engineering)
Master’s in Personalized Medicine and Medical Biotechnology (jointly offered by the School of Medicine and the School of Public Health)
Master’s in Spanish Applied Linguistics (School of Foreign Languages).
In addition, administrative procedures are in the final stages to inaugurate a PhD program in Computer Engineering at the School of Engineering, developed in collaboration with the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. This doctoral program is anticipated to commence concurrently with the newly approved programs next academic year.
