The Center for Strategic Studies (CSS) at the University of Jordan (UJ) on Monday received the Chinese Deputy Chief of Mission, Minister Counsellor, Gong Anmin, in a visit aimed at enhancing academic cooperation and strengthening bilateral research ties.
During the meeting, CSS Director, Prof. Hasan Al Momani, briefed the guest on the Center’s strategic priorities, research programs, and its role in shaping public policy and contributing to international and regional studies.
The meeting provided a platform for in-depth discussions on avenues of cooperation between the Center and prominent Chinese research institutions. Both parties explored the potential for joint academic activities, including conferences and policy dialogues focused on regional and global political developments.
Discussions also tackled regional dynamics, with emphasis on Jordan’s role under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II in promoting peace, stability, and diplomatic engagement across the region.
Al Momani emphasized the importance of the visit within the framework of the Center’s international outreach strategy, noting the pivotal role of China in supporting regional development and security.
For his part, the diplomat expressed his appreciation for the Center’s distinguished academic and policy contributions, reiterating China’s keenness to deepen its collaboration with Jordanian institutions across various academic and strategic fields.
The visit comes as part of broader efforts to foster mutual understanding and reinforce academic and cultural ties between Jordan and China.
