The University of Jordan (UJ) has been selected to participate in the EUSEEDS Regional Project, funded by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT MED program. The project aims to enhance employment opportunities, develop digital skills, and support youth entrepreneurship across Mediterranean countries.
Under this project, UJ will receive support to establish a specialized center focused on improving the readiness of students and recent graduates for the labor market. This will be achieved through practical training programs tailored to the needs of economic sectors, supporting entrepreneurship and innovation, encouraging the creation of startups, developing essential digital and professional skills, and strengthening partnerships with both public and private sectors to connect students with the labour market.
EUSEEDS Regional Project (Enable, Upgrade, and Spread Employability, Entrepreneurship, and Digital Skills) is a European Union-funded initiative addressing youth unemployment in the Eastern Mediterranean by establishing 20 university-based centers across five countries: Cyprus, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Palestine.
The project focuses on building an integrated ecosystem within partner universities to empower youth, enhance their employment prospects, and support their transition from education to work through the exchange of expertise and the application of best European practices in applied education and entrepreneurship.
Through local and international partnerships, UJ seeks to strengthen the readiness of its students and graduates for the labour market, enhance their digital and professional skills, and align the educational process with the needs of economic sectors, thereby contributing to economic and social development.
